Pregnancy, Birth & postpartum...3 things that NEED to be
supported and respected. Yet are so often not by hospitals and their providers. I was recently approached by a company in NYC asking if I’d like to partner with @providencecalifornia to help educate pregnant people on the most important questions to ask their medical care provider...as a PP Doula & new mother, of course, I was 100% into doing this!
I was somewhat shocked - a hospital encouraging pregnant people to be in charge of their birth, be educated on their choices and respected!

After more discussion, I agreed to join forces and be a part of their mission. I also asked if fellow PP Doula @loveofalittleone could join me on this and they agreed.
Over the course of the next few months, Lauren and I will be sharing the top questions to ask your medical care provider for pregnancy, birth & postpartum to help you feel empowered and supported, visiting providence hospital to speak with pregnant people, and engaging with our followers to answer any questions and holding a IG LIVE! We will keep all posts and stories in our highlights for you to be able to reference and save!
I can’t tell you the # of times ppl have asked me, how do I know where to find a medical care provider who respects my choices. It’s easy, ASK as many questions as possible until you find one who supports & respects your vision for those 3 experiences...now you may be asking yourself - but what questions should I ask.
Providence is working on encouraging and helping birthing people to take control of their birthing experience & have the education necessary to do so.
I support the freedom to CHOOSE the birth you desire.
I support hospitals who support and encourage you to be respected and supported by your medical care provider.
I support hospitals being pro education and respectful of birthing people.
Isupport doctors and nurses LISTENING and respecting their clients wishes.
I support EDUCATION.
Stay tuned, thursday @loveofalittleone and myself will post our first round of questions to ask during pregnancy.
